Orquesta Típica Sans
Souci founded in 1999, aims at
recreating the musical styles of the
orquestas típicas of Miguel
Caló and Osmar Maderna. With four
bandoneons, four violins, a double-bass, a
piano and a singer, it's like an orquesta
típica of the fourties and the
fifties. Some of these guys even played in
the orchestras of the famous maestros
mentioned above. Since there were no written records of
the original material of these orquestas
típicas, they have taken the
material straight from the original
recordings, made between 1940 and 1951 by
the musicians under the direction of
Miguel Caló and Osmar Maderna,
always on the basis of the arrangements
specially created by Maderna, and
sometimes also including arrangements on
recordings that have never been edited
commercially. With this, the spirit is to
recreate, staying as close as possible to
the Tango of the fourties. The orchestra played at Tango Festivals
of Lisboa (Portugal) in May 2003 and 2005,
where it launched it's first album "Al
estilo del '40". In 2005 the Orquesta
recorded with the Dutch group "Blof". It
has periodical appearances in different
Tango venues and Milongas in Buenos Aires,
and in TV and radio shows. To find internet samples of 4 complete
