. Tango in Amsterdam ........... Many photos of tango dancers, made by Colin Brace. Taken in Amsterdam, Arnhem, Nijmegen, Buenos Aires etcetera, from 1999-till now. How Tango took off in the Netherlands   The dancing of Tango Argentino in the Netherlands started in Amsterdam and was initiated by modern dancer Wouter Brave. He'd asked his collegue Martine Berghuis to join him in this adventure. Wouter, Martine and, Mirta Campos and Lalo Diaz founded the Tangoschool Amsterdam. A trip of Wouter and Martine to Buenos Aires was documented in the movie 'El abrazo' (Jan van den Berg, 1990). Other Tango dance pioneers of the first hour were Eric Jeurissen (El Corte, Nijmegen), Ivan Torres (Groningen). Mirta Campos and Lalo Diaz founded their own Academia de Tango in Amsterdam), separate from Tangoschool Amsterdam.
